PoppaBox is quickly becoming a must-visit spot in Washington, DC for fans of Asian fusion cuisine. Located at 1928 I St NW, this eatery offers a diverse menu that caters to both budget-conscious diners and those looking for a flavorful experience. The standout feature here is the quick service, perfect for busy professionals and students alike.
Customers rave about dishes such as the bulgogi noodle box, praised for its great flavor and ample portions of tender beef, as well as the widely enjoyed Tofu Bibim Bap. The combination of quality and quantity makes dining at PoppaBox an excellent value for the price.
Many reviewers, including Sarah Montesclaros and Hilda Kroll, highlight the restaurant's efficiency and variety, making it an enticing option for anyone craving Asian-inspired street food. Additionally, the breakfast offerings, like the bulgogi egg and cheese sandwiches, elevate traditional favorites to new heights. As Frances Whalen noted, even less impressive dishes like chicken strips shine with generous portions.
Overall, for anyone searching for a delightful mix of taste and value in their lunch or dinner, PoppaBox is a vibrant spot that won't disappoint.

Stopped in for a late lunch and it wasn’t busy. Ordered a bulgogi noodle box, about 12, which came out fast and hot. Great flavor, nice level of spice, plenty of tender beef. And lots of noodles! I’m happy, I’d come back and eat here again and try something else with confidence.

I LOVE this place. It's a great lunch spot, especially for folks who work around this area or for students. The service is quick and efficient. The food is great and reasonably priced. I like their variety of options on the menu.

If you like Asian food and are on a budget, this is the eatery for you. My friend got the Tofu Bibim Bap (11.49) and I got the Bulgogi NoodleBox (12.49) and Honeydew Bubble Tea (5.49). Large portions of good food at very reasonable prices.

I've been visiting DC for work recently, and I can not recommend this place any higher. If you love Korean food, like Bibimbap, breakfast sandwiches, noodle bowls, dumplings, burritos, or any other street food, you must try this place. In the morning, until about 10:30, they serve breakfast. That means waffle sandwiches, croissant sandwiches, bagel sandwiches, and more. I'm from Jersey, and love a BEC on a Kaiser, but Poppa elevates the BEC into an art. They have a special for 2 bulgogi (Korean beef barbeque) egg and cheese sandwiches and fries for about 10, but most dishes are more like 8. Sharing a bowl with a close friend seems like a good idea, as they are filling. If you come for lunch, you get some great options for bibimbap, noodle bowls, bulgogi cheesesteaks, and more. Everything is delicious, and I visited 6 times in a week, choosing different things each time. I'm looking forward to trying the rest. Visit here and you will not be disappointed!

So this place is a hodgepodge of food items. My daughter got a bento box, which she said was 10/10, pictured. She enjoyed everything. I got chicken strips and fries, not pictured. While not overly impressive, the portions were amazing. I also got the strawberry black tea that I need to learn how to make. It was so delightful. My daughter said they were pleasant to her when she placed her order. So it's definitely worth a visit.

If you’re anywhere near the 1901 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, NW you MUST check out PoppaBox! They’re the best little hidden gem of the city. With an amazing breakfast platter for under 9 you get two eggs, your choice of meats (sausage, bacon, ham), and waffles. You cannot beat this combo with a stick. The staff is always friendly, professional and helpful with any questions about the menu. Check them out!

Korean food was so good. We got the bulgobgi bowl with spicy pork added. It came with a dumpling (mandu) that was huge and perfectly fried. We also order a cantaloupe smoothie and it tasted so good. Service was also amazing. The person that took our order was very friendly. We came at 10am but wanted lunch which they don't serve until 10:30. He let us wait and immediately took our order once lunch was served.

Food was surprisingly very high quality for the price. 1. Food was the same size as advertised if not bigger 2. I had the poppa bear and I've never had lettuce be so fresh before. Hands down the highest quality ingredients. 3. My girlfriend had the teppanyaki and the japchae and bulgogi was very authentic in flavor. Overall, came in expecting an average quality quick meal and was shocked at high quality ingredients with very reasonable prices.
